What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that injured two children at 42nd St and Long Ave in Ector County, TX on September 14th, 2021. Police say it happened around 9 p.m. Police say that a Ford F-350 operated by a 46-year0old Odessa man was traveling at a high rate of a speed before it ran a stop sign. This was allegedly corroborated by witnesses at the scene and the driver of a second vehicle, a Mazda 3, operated by 31-year-old Ruby Hinojos. The two vehicles collided, causing serious injuries to a 10-year-old passenger in the Mazda. A 12-year-old passenger and the Odessa man suffered less serious injuries while Hinojos was not injured. The Odessa man was charged with Intoxication Assault.
