What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at Moss Ave and Edna St in Ector County, TX on April 18th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 4:52 a.m. Investigators believe a Mack truck operated by 63-year-old Jose Rodrigo Navarrete was headed eastbound as it came upon the stop intersection at Edna St and Moss Ave. The truck is said to have failed to yield and proceeded into the intersection, traveling into the path of an approaching northbound Cadillac CTS operated by a 16-year-old male. The vehicles collided, causing minor injuries to the 16-year-old and more serious injured to an 18-year-old passenger. Navarrete was reportedly uninjured.
