What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at Jed Robinson Loop in Athens, TX on October 24th, 2022. Police are saying a van attempting to cross the intersection at FM 1616 was struck by an 18-wheeler headed westbound on Jed Robinson Loop. The collision caused the van the veer from the road while the 18-wheeler became jackknifed. 22-year-old Tyler Drew Fajardo died in the collision while three others were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
