What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 3470 in Killeen, TX on May 26th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 9:15 p.m. According to investigators, a Volkswagen Atlas is alleged to have failed to control its speed before colliding with the rear of a westbound Honda HR-V. Authorities say the driver of the Honda, identified as 48-year-old Veronica Begay, was seriously injured. A 17-year-old passenger was also seriously injured while a 14-year-old passenger had less serious injuries. Reports say the driver of the Volkswagen  had possible, unconfirmed injuries and allegedly charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
