What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at TX 101 in Wise County, TX on August 18th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:20 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 55-year-old Grand Prairie man was going north on TX 101 when it failed to yield and performed an unsafe turn onto County Rd 1536, into the path of a Toyota Corolla. The two vehicles collided, seriously injuring the Corolla driver, 78-year-old Virgile Kuykendall. The truck driver not injured and charged with Failure to Yield Row to Approaching Traffic-Turning Left.
