What Happened

Area authorities have confirmed fatalities in a crash at I-10 in Gonzales County, TX on July 6th, 2022. They say the incident happened around 11:22 a.m. and involved three semi-trucks and three passenger vehicles. Investigators are saying one of the trucks, operated by 57-year-old Wade Slagle, collided with a BMW operated by 62-year-old Mona Nesbitt in a construction zone. The impact caused the truck and BMW to collide with the other vehicles involved in a chain reaction crash. Slagel and Nesbitt were both killed as was Slagle's passenger, 46-year-old Christy Hoffer. Also killed was an 11-year-old child in one of the vehicles. A child in the BMW was hospitalized with serious injuries. Additional information was not available.
