What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 377 in Benbrook, TX on January 5th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 1:35 p.m. A commercial Hino truck operated by a 57-year-old Granbury man was in a righthand lane behind two other vehicles when the other two vehicles stopped for traffic ahead. Police say the truck collided with the rear of one of the vehicles, a Kia Sportage operated by 79-year-old Wanda Cheek. The impact pushed the Kia into a Ford F-150 operated by a 57-year-old male. Cheek was seriously injured while the Ford driver was evaluated for possible injuries. The Granbury man was also evaluated and charged with Following Too Closely.
