Authorities in Sunnyvale, TX, are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred on March 16, 2025, at approximately 4:29 a.m. on US Highway 80. Reports are saying a Ford F-250, driven by a man allegedly under the influence of alcohol, was traveling east when it failed to control speed and rear-ended a Chevrolet Traverse that was slowing or stopping for emergency vehicles. The crash resulted in the death of a 6-year-old child passenger in the Traverse and suspected serious injuries to 55-year-old Wendy Patton Knox and a 6-year-old child. Four other occupants, including two children, sustained minor or possible injuries. The Ford driver was charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
