What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at I-20 in Midland, TX on January 29th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 3:22 p.m. A commercial truck operated by a 47-year-old Orange, TX man was headed eastbound on the south service road and approached a traffic light at an intersection. Investigators say the truck proceeded through the intersection and collided with a Ford F-150 operated by 60-year-old William James Cooper III. Both Cooper and his passenger, 63-year-old Michelle Anne Cooper, both suffered minor injuries. The truck driver, who was not injured, was cited for Disregarding Red Light-Traffic Signal.
