What Happened

Authorities are investigating a collision that killed two people at I-40 near Alanreed in Gray County, TX on March 17th, 2025. Police say the incident happened around 11:38 a.m. Officials are saying an eastbound Kia Soul collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer that was disabled in a lane of travel from a previous crash. Reprots say the initial collision caused a chain-reaction crash that left the driver of the Kia, 67-year-old William McKaig and 73-year-old passenger, Richene McKaig, fatally injured. Officials say the occupants of the other vehicles involved, were uninjured. Additional details were not available.
