What Happened

Area authorities have information on a crash that killed two people at Hwy 87 near Bridge City, TX on May 19th, 2022. Investigators say it happened around 6:30 a.m. Their reports indicate a Dodge SUV pulling onto Hwy 87 from Gaylynn Dr being struck by a motorcycle. The motorcyclist, identified as 46-year-old William Wantuck, died at the scene. The driver of the SUV, 32-year-old Harley Laughlin, was taken to an area hospital along with a child passenger for treatment. Laughlin later died from injuries from the crash. The child passenger was later released after treatment. Police continue to investigate the accident.
