What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that injured a driver at US 59 in Polk County, TX on December 29th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 7:02 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by 37-year-old Abdifatah Noor Mohamed was headed northbound on the US 59 shoulder attempting to enter the road. Police say the vehicle changed lanes when unsafe and struck a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 74-year-old Willie Frank Tiner. Tiner suffered minor injuries while Mohamed was not injured. Records indicate a charge of Changing Lanes When Unsafe was recommended and/or issued.
