What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at I-40 at Western St in Amarillo, TX on August 11th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 5:03 p.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 65-year-old Queen Creek, AZ man was traveling eastbound behind a Ford Econoline van operated by a 79-year-old Santa Fe, NM woman. The truck failed to control its speed as traffic ahead slowed and it collided with the rear of the van, seriously injuring the woman. The truck driver was no injured.
