What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a woman at FM 2611 in Brazoria County, TX on July 4th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 5:04 a.m. A GMC Sierra Denali operated by 41-year-old David Turner II reportedly veered from the north side of the road over a private drive into a mailbox. From there the vehicle went into a ditch and struck a second private drive, going airborne in the process. The vehicle hit several trees and overturned, partially ejecting a passenger before the vehicle landed on top of the passenger. The passenger, a 41-year-old woman, suffered fatal injuries. Police say Turner reportedly admitted to drinking prior to the crash.
