What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Grant Ave in Odessa, TX on June 15th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2:42 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Challenger operated by 21-year-old Xavier Tavarez was headed southbound prior to performing a lane change into a left turn lane. Police say the vehicle was attempting to make a left turn when it lost control and collided with a street light pole. From there, police believe the vehicle went into a private lot, where Tavarez was ejected from the vehicle. Authorities say Tavarez suffered suspected serious injuries and had no additional information to share.
