What Happened

State Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that left three people injured at I-80 in Grantsville, UT on March 2nd, 2022. According to police, it happened around 10 a.m. and involved two semi-trucks, a passenger car and a state patrol cruiser. Investigators say one of the semi-trucks was in the process of making a lane change to make room for the patrol vehicle, which had pulled over the other semi-truck. In the process of the lane change, the truck struck a passenger car next to it before clipping the patrol cruiser and other car. The truck lost control as a result and overturned, catching fire. The driver of the overturned semi suffered minor injuries while a man and woman in the passenger car suffered minor and serious injuries. They were both hospitalized.
