What Happened

Utah Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed three people at I-15 in Farr West, UT on May 24th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 3 a.m. According to investigators, a passenger vehicle was struck in the rear by a semi-truck. They believe the passenger vehicle was stopped in a right-hand lane after possibly striking a deer. Three rear seat occupants, including a 17-year-old girl, 70-year-old Tira Hanchor and 64-year-old Ekar Hanchor, were killed. Two front seat passengers were hospitalized with serious injuries. The condition of the truck driver was not stated and police did not have additional information.
