What Happened

State Police have identified the person killed in a crash at I-64 in York County, VA on October 1st, 2023. Police say it happened around 12:22 p.m. and named 53-year-old Tammy M. Parsons as the victim. Police say a tire detached from a westbound Jeep Renegade under unclear circumstances. The tire went into the eastbound lanes, striking the driver's side of a Ford Explorer occupied by Parsons, her husband and her five children. There no other reported injuries.
