What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a woman at Aurora Ave North in Seattle, WA on February 7th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 3:27 p.m. According to investigators, it began as a forklift entered onto Aurora Avenue. The vehicle vehicle traveled eastbound until it collided  under unclear circumstances with an SUV headed southbound. The impact caused the SUV to collide with a northbound landscaping truck. A 25-year-old woman in the SUV, identified as Jessica Valdez, was taken to an area hospital with injuries she lated died from. The driver, a 27-year-old male, was hospitalized with serious injuries. The landscaping truck operator was hospitalized in stable condition. The forklift operator, who police allege suspicion of being under the influence, was arrested at the scene.
