What Happened

Washington State Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a man at I-5 in Kent, WA in June 30th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 3:45 p.m. An allegedly slow-moving Ford Fusion was attempting to merge into a lane before it was struck by a semi-truck. The impact pushed the Fusion onto an adjacent lane, allowing it be struck by a second truck. The driver of the Ford Fusion, a 51-year-old Tacoma man, died at the scene. The driver of one of the trucks was treated for minor injuries.
