Area authorities are investigating a collision that killed a driver at State Hwy 136 in Sauk County, WI on September 17th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 1:30 p.m. Investigators say that during their initial findings, a Chevrolet Impala operated by Melissa J. Heitke may have crossed a center line, colliding head-on with a Freightliner heavy duty truck. The impact sent the vehicle into a ditch and left Heitke with injuries so severe, she was pronounced dead at an area hospital shortly after arrival.
