What Happened

Columbia County Sheriff's Office authorities are investigating a crash that killed a woman at County Hwy A and County Hwy G in Courtland, WI on October 7th, 2024. Police say the incident happened when a semi-truck allegedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign before entering into the path of a pickup truck. Reports say the two vehicles collided, the impact leaving a 21-year-old woman in the pickup truck seriously injured. Authorities say she was taken to an area hospital with injuries she later died from. The semi-truck operator, identified as 25-year-old Jibreel Aguirre, was allegedly arrested on a charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
