Apparent/Alleged Cause of Accident

Dump truck crashed into an EMT vehicle parked in the shoulder. A second dump truck that was behind the first, swerved to avoid the accident and hit two other vehicles.


What Happened

Louisville Metro Police Department officials continue to investigate a crash that injured 7 people on I-264 on January 7th, 2019. Police say the accident occurred when a dump truck collided with an EMS vehicle that was parked in an emergency lane. A second dump truck that was following the first hit two other vehicles in an attempt to avoid the accident. Police named the victims in the EMS vehicle as Kristopher Haberlin and Christopher Barrett, who both suffered serious injuries. Five others were also injured in the accident.
