Missouri State Highway Patrol Officials released details related to the cause of the accident that killed a man on I-44 on January 27th, 2019 in St. Louis, MO. 36-year-old Thomas W. Washburn was killed in the accident. Police say Washburn's vehicle was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed and collided with a semi-truck after merging lanes. Washburn had been under chase by police at the time of the accident. The driver of the semi-truck, 25-year-old Eric M Jaschen, was not injured.
