What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a woman at Hwy 281 in Grand Island, NE on February 25th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 10 a.m. According to investigators, a semi-truck headed southbound performed a turn into the path of a Pontiac Grand Am headed northbound. The driver of the Pontiac, identified as 34-year-old Lila Wilson, was taken to an area hospital with injuries she later died from. The driver of the truck, 69-year-old Gerald Dugan, suffered minor injuries. Additional details were not available.
