What Happened

Area authorities say a driver was charged in connection with a crash at Carlisle and Claremont in Albuquerque, NM on May 29th, 2023. Officials say it happened sometime before 8:30 p.m. Investigators are saying two motorcyclists were headed southbound on Carlisle when a semi-truck making a turn failed to yield and struck the vehicles. The two men operating the motorcycles were hospitalized with serious injuries. The truck driver, identified as 60-year-old Michel Cartagena, was arrested on a Driving Under the Influence charge.
