What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a person at Lewis Point and State Route 13 in Lenox, NY on September 3rd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by 40-year-old John Conklin was involved in a collision with a motorcycle operated by 60-year-old Aaron Atkinson. Police believe the truck crossed from a northbound lane into a southbound lane before colliding with the motorcycle. Atkinson suffered fatal injuries int he crash. Conklin faces a vehicular manslaughter charge and authorities expressed suspicion that Conklin may have been impaired by drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
