What Happened

State Police have information on a crash that killed a Citi Bike operator on 24th Ave in Queens, NY on January 12th, 2023.  Police say it happened around 5 p.m. Investigators believe 62-year-old Tamara Chuchi Kao was traveling via Citi Bike, headed eastbound on 24th Ave. A cement truck was turning right from 29th St onto 24th Ave and the bike traveled between the truck and parked vehicles. At some point, Kao was struck and fell to the ground, suffering fatal head injuries at the scene. The truck and driver remained at the scene and questioned. Currently, no arrests have been made and police continue to investigate.
