What Happened

Tennessee Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a man at I-65 near Cross Plains, TN on April 18th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2 p.m. and involved a total of five vehicles. Investigators allege an 18-wheeler operated by 55-year-old Davina Luckett collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer operated by 71-year-old David Arnold. The impact caused Arnold's vehicle to collided with and driver over a pickup truck operated by 28-year-old Bryant Freedle. Freedle's vehicle was pushed into a tractor-trailer ahead, causing that vehicle to strike another truck. Freedle was killed in the collision. Luckett had injuries that were not disclosed and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Additional information was not made available.
