What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash at FM 548 in Kaufman County, TX on March 2nd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 7:40 p.m. According to investigators, a Jeep Patriot operated by 30-year-old Cameron Rossetti was headed northbound on FM 548 ahead of a Dodge Ram operated by 18-year-old Mia Analiz Alfaro that police allege failed to control its speed and collided with the stationary Jeep, which was waiting to make a left turn. The impact caused a Toyota Camry operated by 36-year-old Amanda Kamath to also collide with the vehicles, leaving her with serious injuries. The other drivers were uninjured and officers recommended and/or issued a Failure to Control Speed for Alfaro.
