What Happened

Area authorities have information related to a crash that injured three people at State Hwy 110 in Whitehouse, TX on November 10th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 7:40 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 51-year-old Erika Spriggs was headed northbound on State Hwy 110 when it collided with the rear of a Kia Sportage stopped at a red light. The Kia was stopped behind a motorcycle also stopped at the light and the impact pushed the Kia into the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle, identified as 38-year-old Herschel Smith, suffered serious injuries. The driver of the Kia, 44-year-old Amanda Smith, as well as a 7-year-old passenger, both suffered minor injuries. Spriggs had minor injuries and officers recommended and/or issued a Driving While Intoxicated charge.
