What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at State Road 90 in Colorado County, TX on September 23rd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:03 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Corvette operated by 73-year-old Dennie Ward was headed eastbound on US 90 approaching a curve in the road. The vehicle veered left, sideswiping an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado, causing the vehicle to lose control. It when airborne before ejecting Ward from the vehicle and landing into a ditch, catching fire. The crash cased fatal injuries for Ward. The occupants of the other vehicle were uninjured.
