What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at State Hwy 11 in Fannin County, TX on December 27th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:39 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Dakota operated by 59-year-old Edward Wills was headed northwest on Hwy 11. A Hino box truck operated by an unnamed 40-year-old Sherman, TX man was headed northwest, ahead of the Dodge. Officers believe the box truck was slowing to make a turn and as it did so, the Dodge traveled into an opposite lane to pass the truck. The truck came to a sudden stop to avoid a collision while the Dodge traveled back into its previous lane, colliding with the rear of the truck. The collision left wills with fatal injuries. The other driver and passenger were taken to an area hospital for evaluation. Additional information was not provided.
