What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured five people at I-20 in Ector County, TX on September 19th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 4:50 p.m. According to investigators, a truck tractor headed eastbound on I-20 is said to have struck another vehicle under unclear circumstances before veering into a median. After crossing over the median and barrier wall, it traveled into the westbound lanes and created a chain reaction crash involving four other vehicles. Five people involved were hospitalized, including two in critical condition. Additional information was not immediately available.
