What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 69 in Tyler, TX on September 6th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:40 p.m. According to investigators, a Kia Optima operated by 42-year-old Jill Cox was exiting a parking lot to travel northbound at South Broadway. Police say the vehicle traveled into a middle lane due to allegedly not being able to complete a safe left turn out of the parking lot. It resulted in the vehicle colliding with a Dodge Ram 1500 operated by a 22-year-old Jacksonville man. He suffered minor injuries int he collision, according to police, while Cox was more seriously injured. Additional details were not provided.
