What Happened

Authorities are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that killed a driver at State Hwy 349 in Martin County, TX on December 21st, 2022. Officials say it happened around 4:44 p.m. According to authorities, a Chevrolet pickup truck was headed southbound on State Hwy 349. At the same time, a tractor-trailer operated by a 53-year-old Lakeland, FL man was slowing to perform a turn into a private drive ahead of the pickup when the pickup collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer. A nearby Ford Explorer also collided with the tractor-trailer following the initial crash. The crash left the driver of the pickup truck, identified as 25-year-old Joshua Paul McCracken, suffered fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported.
