What Happened

Police in the area are investigating a crash that left a woman dead at US 183 near Cuero, TX on January 21st, 2023. Police say the incident happened round 6:35 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by 43-year-old Reginald Cobb was headed southbound before crossing into a northbound lane for unknown reasons. It then collided with a northbound Kia Sorento operated by 38-year-old Laura Yvette Rivera. Both vehicles were pushed into an embankment in the impact and the Kia overturned.. leaving Rivera with fatal injuries at the scene. Cobb was uninjured and authorities were not ready to disclose additional information.
