What Happened

Area authorities are searching for a driver in connection with a hit-and-run accident at Hwy 347 and Woodlawn Rd in Jefferson County, TX on October 9th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 11 p.m. 60-year-old Rafael Lacayo Simpson was reportedly waking in a center section of the roadway before they were struck by a vehicle. The vehicle involved fled the scene and Lacayo Simpson was taken to an area hospital with injuries he later died from. Additional information was not immediately available.
