What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at Loop 1604 in San Antonio, TX on May 6th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:52 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-150 operated by a 23-year-old man is alleged to have disregarded a red light before colliding with a Chevrolet Camaro at an intersection. A passenger in the Camaro, identified as 21-year-old Shae Valenzuela, suffered fatal injuries in the collision. The driver of the Camaro, identified as 21-year-old David Flores, had injuries believed to be non-life-threatening in nature. The driver of the Ford was not injured, according to police, and a charge of Intoxication Manslaughter was recommended and/or issued.
