Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Prairie St in Houston, TX on August 21st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:40 p.m. According to investigators, a Kia Rio operated by 24-year-old Shayla Martinez was headed westbound on Prairie St when a Hyundai Elantra ran a red light at the intersection with Travis St, colliding with the Kia. Following the collision, the Hyundai fled the scene and was pursued by police until the driver was later stopped and alleged to be intoxicated. Martinez suffered serious injuries in the crash while her three passengers were reportedly uninjured.
