What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at State 146 in Polk County, TX on December 27th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 1:34 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Avenger operated by 20-year-old Stephen Viellieux was outbound on Hwy 146, allegedly fleeing a previous collision. The vehicle is alleged to have been attempting to travel into a driveway by traveling on the wrong side of the woad, colliding with a Nissan Murano in the process. Following the collision, Viellieux allegedly left the scene on-foot. Both the driver of the Nissan, identified as 55-year-old Stella Hill and a passenger, 49-year-old Betty Jones, were both seriously injured. Viellieux was evaluated for possible injuries. Officers recommended and/or issued charges that include Intoxication Assault, Failure to Stop and Render Aid and Resisting Arrest Search or Transport.
