What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed two people at FM 2221 in La Joya, TX on June 1st, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:58 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford Mustang was traveling northbound prior to colliding with the side of the tractor-trailer. Police were not able to provide a possible cause for the crash. They say two occupants of the Mustang, identified as 39-year-old Tony Orlando Lopez and 25-year-old Jose Antonio Carbajal, were both killed in the crash.
