What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials say two people were seriously injured following a crash at I-69E in Brownsville, TX on April 18th, 2021. Around 2:14 a.m., an Audi A4 operated by a 26-year-old Brownsville, TX man began traveling in the wrong direction while making a left turn. It then struck a Toyota Camry operated by 36-year-old Esmeralda Delagarza near an on-ramp. Both drivers were seriously injured while a passenger in the Camry, 46-year-old Alicia Maldonado was evaluated for possible injuries. The Brownsville man was also charged with intoxication assault.
