What Happened

Austin Police are investigating a collision that killed a man at Hwy 71 in Austin, TX on December 14th, 2022. Officials say the incident happened around 2:02 a.m. According to investigators,  20-year-old Nelson Anderson was traveling via skateboard as an unknown vehicle approached. The vehicle is said to have traveled over a curb and struck Anderson as he traveled on the sidewalk. Anderson was thrown from the skateboard and suffered fatal injuries after striking his head on the road. The vehicle involved fled the scene and police are currently searching the the driver involved.
