What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 87 in Bexar County, TX on February 21st, 2023. Police are saying it happened around 7:30 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 27-year-old Killeen man was entering onto westbound US 87 when its trailer became disconnected from the truck. The trailer was blocking the westbound lanes as a result before it was struck by an approaching Ford Ranger operated by 80-year-old Aurelio Zapata-Camarillo. Zapata-Camarillo suffered serious injuries in the collision. The other driver was not injured.
