What Happened

Houston Police are investigating a crash that killed a bicyclist at Hwy 288 and Calumet St in Houston, TX on April 15th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Authorities say a bicyclist was crossing the main lanes of Hwy 288 before they were almost struck by an 18-wheeler. While attempting to an avoid the collision, the bicyclist is said to have fallen off the bicycle and was struck by other passing vehicles before they had an opportunity to clear the road. Officials say the drivers remained at the scene and two had minor injuries while the bicyclist was fatally injured. Authorities did not have any additional information available.
