What Happened

Authorities have information on a crash that injured two people at US 84 in Gatesville, TX on March 29th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 4:10 p.m. Investigators say a Honda Accord veered across a curb after exiting a parking lot, crossing eastbound lanes and colliding with a westbound Chevrolet Avalanche. Reports say the Honda across struck a trailer being towed by a Dodge Ram. The collision is said to have left 39-year-old Chevrolet operator, identified as 39-year-old Kyle Atkinson, had minor injuries. The driver of the Honda, identified as 62-year-old Byron Haynes, was more seriously injured, reports say. Reports also say responding officers alleged possible alcohol involvement in the crash.
