What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 36 in Freeport, TX on March 18th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 6:15 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-150 was westbound before allegedly attempted a left turn onto Velasco St while traveling into the path of an eastbound Mack truck. The vehicles collided as a result, the impact pushing the Ford into a nearby Nissan Altima stopped at a stop sign. The driver of the Nissan, identified as 41-year-old Timothy Petershagan, was seriously injured, as was the unidentified Ford operator. The Mack truck driver, not identified, was allegedly uninjured.
