What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at US 290 in Gillespie County, TX on March 29th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 4:36 p.m. According to investigators, an Isuzu truck traveling eastbound on US 290 collided with a westbound GMC C1500. Reports allege the GMC veered into oncoming traffic prior to the collision, which the Isuzu truck is said to have attempted to avoid colliding with. The impact caused the Isuzu truck to overturn as the GMC proceeded into the path of a Chevrolet Silverado, which collided with the truck. Reports indicate 21-year-old Isuzu passenger, Kaitlyn Sucilla Orozco, was fatally injured while the driver, who was not publicly identified, had serious injuries. The driver of the GMC, age 17 and also not publicly, was also seriously injured. The driver of the Chevrolet was allegedly uninjured. Additional details were not available.
